This newest piece of art, The Burning Book, will be at the RED exhibition at The Artists Gallery. The opening gala is Friday, Feb. 2nd, 6:30-8:30 pm.
I made this using Ray Bradbury’s novel, Fahrenheit 451. Bradbury was one of my favorite authors in high school and I did a few English class papers and projects about him. One of my favorite projects was to create a scrapbook of his life. Since he was a contemporary author at the time (and it was before the internet), there was a limited amount of information about him that I could use. I had to make up quite a bit of material based on his personality and what I thought a guy like him might save in a scrapbook. That must have appealed to Mrs. Roberts, since she gave me an A.
I will blog again about the full process of this artwork. You can see videos of me making it on my facebook page. HOPE to see you at the reception on Friday!
