Remover of Obstacles

This little painting (5×7″) has sparked a HUGE discussion on Facebook!  I finished this yesterday and showed it to Don.  He complimented me on “the bird.”  He saw a white peacock, but could not see the elephant until I explained it to him.  So I posted that curiosity on Facebook and asked what others saw.

The response was overwhelming!  Over 30 comments, and such a range of what people could see!  Some saw the bird, others the elephant, some saw both.  Then there was a whale tail, a smiling whale, a heart, and “a cleaning bill.”

This painting is inspired by Ganesha, the Hindu god who is considered the “remover of obstacles” and is usually depicted as an elephant. It does not at all resemble the typical images of Ganesha, but is a reminder about how colorful and energizing life is when you remove the obstacles to your own success! It’s small, just 5×7″ but packs a powerful punch of inspiration! It’s just $35 if anyone wants to claim it before it goes on the wall in my studio.
