Fall and the Back to School Season is always a full scale “New Year’s Celebration” for me.  This time of year offers a fresh start where we can all create new routines, forge new friendships and make a commitment to improvements.  When I was an elementary teacher, September was a much more significant New Beginning than January first ever was.

Even if you don’t have kids heading back out for the morning school bus, this is a great time to reflect and plan.  What has gone well this year?  What do you have to be grateful for?  What major and minor things have you achieved?  What surprised you?  Take a few minutes to take stock.  Look back on the first three quarters of the year and decide what you want to grow more of in your life.  Make a plan for these last three months of 2014.  Remember, what you focus on grows, so be sure you are putting your focus on the positive, bountiful areas of your life.  Share your comments below:  what are your reflections?  What is your plan?  Then we can all watch it unfold!

PS:  I carved this book for the upcoming show at The Artists Gallery called “Reflections.”  If you are in town, it would be wonderful for you to join us for the opening reception, October 10th, 6:30-8:30 pm.
