I had great fun with three friends, making paper casts of their faces!
It was a tricky process that included first making a silicone mold of each face (requiring patience and a lack of claustrophobia). After the silicone set, I added a plaster layer to help it keep its shape. With my friends freed of their silicone entrapment, I applied layers of paper to the inside of the silicone casts. Those take several days to dry, unlike the silicone which sets in about 7 minutes.
Once the paper casts were complete, I worked with the three books that they indicated: Fountainhead, Anything Can Happen, and Are You There God, It’s Me, Margaret. Each face is lined with paper from the book, and then the books spill forth from their mouths.
