When you engage in a creative process, it’s good to know that people have your back. You are sticking your neck out there, along with your heart and soul, so there is a lot to lose when things don’t go well. Be sure you have a support group: family, friends, neighbors who will cheer for you when things go well, and lift you up when things don’t.

I know that they will find the right words if things go worse than expected, and they will challenge me to shoot for higher aspirations. It’s not that they always appreciate art, but I know that they always appreciate me.

Who has your back? Who are the people you can confide in when you are ready to take a leap? You know they’ll be cheering for you and holding you accountable, and they’ll be there for you to the sweet end, even if it turns out bittersweet. Give them a nice big thank you in the comments below!
