This artwork is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.   The word Faith, carved into Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, evokes images of the devoted Christian. The Braille dots in front of the word spell Blind.

The piece is a response to the struggles of Gavin Grimm, a transgender boy who, in a landmark case, fought for his right to use the restroom aligned with his gender identity.  An adult in the community, armed with a Bible, petitioned the school board to deny him this right.

I question what it means to invoke faith while inflicting harm on others. To use faith as a weapon that divides rather than unites—what kind of faith is that? To me, this is blind faith.
