Last week I compared your goals to a little flower that was growing on our front steps, against all odds.

Here is another set of “odds” to consider when you are working your goals:

I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. ~ Michael Jordan

I love this because it sure puts things in perspective. Oftentimes we look at other people and see their successes, and we think it looks like this:

1 what people think success looks likeWhat we don’t see and don’t know is that their actual path to success looks much more like this:

1 what-success-really-looks-likeLast week, hopefully, you started working on just one thing you would like to accomplish. It could be one of your big goals for the year or it could just be a simpler task that you have been putting off.

Maybe you tried to get it going, made some headway and then hit a snag or two. Maybe you are still avoiding taking the first step. Just remember that Michael Jordan has made over 32,000 points in his career because he didn’t give up after the ones he missed!

What step are you taking this week?
