Sometimes challenges come in strange shapes and sizes (or colors).
Everyone who has followed the newspaper box project knows that this was my first piece of public art. The piece has to be stand up to being displayed outside in all kids of weather. That meant using Rust-Oleum Paint, which doesn’t come with very many color options.
I had to go back to the basics: red, blue, yellow, black and white.
And it worked. It is so hard to believe these primaries actually do mix to make any color you desire. When you pour some apple red into bright yellow, it seems like a bit of a miracle when the orange emerges.
If you are facing a complicated project or problem, consider going back to the very basic elements and building from there. Break your problem into the smallest pieces and then look at the most simple, obvious solutions. Then allow some miracles to happen.
Trust that Simple can work.
